Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH MORRISON (BUCKLEY) Peacefully with her family at her side Edith left us on June 13, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Art; daughters, Cheryle McClure (Don) and Sandra Gowan (Paul Ebbinghaus); grandchildren, Cherianne, Ian, Erin, Jeremy and Danny; sisters, Mary Amesbury of Ladysmith, BC, and Hazel Buckley; and brother Arthur (Carol) Buckley of Winnipeg; brother and sister-in-law John (Mary) Morrison, Anne Morrison and many nieces and nephews. Edith was born June 26, 1919 in Weston in the R.M. of Rosser, the second child of Edith and Arthur Buckley formerly of Manchester England. She attended school at Cecil Rhodes, Daniel MacIntyre and Angus School of Commerce. At the age of 19 she went to England to work, returning home at the outbreak of the Second World War. She was working at Jenkins Garage when she met Art. Later they started dating. They were wed on October 25, 1946. She enjoyed spending time at Lac Lu at the Buckley cabin. Edith embraced farm life with Art learning everything about a whole new life style. Later she became the main operator of her combine until they retired. She was always ready to travel whenever it was suggested. Together she and Art visited many areas of North America, England and the Caribbean. She was a lifetime member of the Good Sams Trailer Club with the Sunny Sams group. When her daughters were young she was a dedicated 4-H leader. At the time of her passing she was a member of the Mount Lildon Women's Institute. She enjoyed baking and feeding the Wednesday afternoon coffee group which met in her kitchen. Both she and Art loved evenings out at the local casinos and suppers at their favourite restaurants. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ian, Jeremy and Danny, Robert Morrison, Doug Morrison and Robert Ebbinghaus. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Husak, Bill Attree, Bill Riggall, Nestor Myska and Rus Gowan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stonewall Hospital's Staff Christmas Fund. Friends may call to pay their respects on Sunday evening, June 17, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. The family would like to thank the staff at Stonewall Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care of her over the last six months. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
