ADELAIDE (ADDY) ANNE RYNGACH A lifetime's work has ended and a well earned rest is won. With profound sadness, we announce the immeasurable loss of our beloved Addy on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 58 years. Remaining to forever cherish Addy's memory are her only sister Marilyn Doreen (George); lifelong friend and partner Leslie; four wonderful Aunties, Olga, Minnie, Jean and Lucille; numerous cousins, extended family, and many caring friends. She joins her beloved parents, Michael (Mickey), 1974, and Anne, 1988. Addy was born in Portage La Prairie on July 8, 1948, and following her graduation from the Portage Collegiate Institute, she attended the University of Manitoba, receiving her Bachelor of Physical Education in 1969 and Bachelor of Education in 1974. She was an athlete from an early age, winning tennis and basketball championships in her teens. Addy was one of Manitoba's top ranked junior tennis players and won the Prairie Provinces singles tennis championship and was the University of Manitoba's Female Athlete of the Year in 1970. She had a rewarding teaching and coaching career at Westwood Collegiate for 33 years. Addy coached the University of Manitoba women's basketball team for two years and was G.P.A.C. coach of the year in 1983. She was inducted into the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994. Golf later became her passion... she truly loved the game. Addy enjoyed many happy times at the lake with the Chatterley family and especially cherished the time she spent swimming, biking, building forts on the beach, and crafts and plays on the veranda with her godchild Samantha. You never really leave a place you love: Part of it you take with you, leaving part of yourself behind. In keeping with Addy's wishes, a private family interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Portage la Prairie has taken place. A celebration of Addy's life will be held at the Conservatory in the Assiniboine Park on Sunday, June 24, 2007, at 8:00 p.m. Special thanks to all her family, friends and former students for the notes, letters, flowers, gifts of food, and visits during the past year, Addy was always amazed by your generosity and kindness. Sincere thanks to the staff at Riverview for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Addy's memory to CancerCare Manitoba's Ovarian Cancer Fund, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or to the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Ward, 478-6271. The best thing about memories is that wherever we go, they will go with us...in us. WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665

Addy and I were doubles partners in tennis during most of our teenage years. Not only was she a wonderful parter, but a lovely, respectful and motivational partner. I think of our days at the Winnipeg Tennis Club often. XxxBeatty Sair Cohan. Beattycohan.com - Posted by: BEATTY COHAN...BEATTY SAIR (Tennis partners) on: Dec 16, 2020
