DORIS CAROLINE HINDLE (nee SAUNDERS) September 25, 1922 June 11, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Hindle, peacefully, with her family by her side, at the St. Boniface Hospital, on June 12, 2007. Doris is survived by her four children, Garry (Donna), Dianne (Ken), John (Bev) and Valerie (Gary); 14 grandchildren, Laird, Brock, Regan, Kirk, Chris, Leah, Gerrit, David, Sarah, Michelle, Allyson, Dalton, Robert and Daniel, and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kayla. She is predeceased by her beloved Gar (married 66 years), and daughter Lorie (age two years, 1943). Doris was raised in Collingwood, Ontario where she met and married the love of her life, Gar Hindle. They were happy and devoted to each other as they travelled through life together. Doris loved to laugh, was shy by nature, loved all around her, and supported all of her children and grandchildren to do and be the best they could be. She had great courage and was proud to have gone overseas with the Canadian Red Cross Corps during the Second World War. She had great determination and became a teacher at the age of 40. She was a wonderful friend to so many and was interested in everything around her. She loved to travel, play bridge, square dance, watch Winnipeg Goldeyes games, was devoted to the United Church and was proud to be a United Empire Loyalist. Mostly she loved outings with her family and many friends. Doris was an incredible talent - A scholar, teacher, poet, author, and painter extraordinaire. Words can't do her justice yet she had such a wonderful way with words. Her book, Tales Out of School, is a true gift that she has left for future generations. Her paintings are inspirational and cherished keepsakes. Doris will be missed by all who knew her and will forever remain in our hearts. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Meadowood United Church, 1111 Dakota Street. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make a donation in Doris' memory to the Canadian Red Cross or the charity of their choice.
