SOPHIA CHARSKI May 12, 1912 - June 16, 2007 On Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Victoria General Hospital, Sophie Charski (nee Tworkowski) age 95 years passed away peacefully in her sleep. Predeceased by her parents, Peter and Mary; husband Jon; infant son Ted; sisters, Anna and Karalina, and brothers, Mark, Leon and Wladek. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Stephie (Walter) Bezpalko; grandchildren, Wendy (Glen) Brabant, Edward Bezpalko and great-grandchildren, Timothy and Tyler. Sophie came to Canada in 1959. She was a member of the St. John Cantius Society and worked for MTS for over 18 years. Recently she had been involved with the Jehovah's Witnesses. Special thanks to the staff of the 5th floor at Victoria General for all their care. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave, with an interment, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sophie's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6.
