VERONICA STEVENSON Veronica passed away at home on June 16, 2007 after a lengthy battle with leukemia. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas; daughter Lauri, son-in-law Fred Cox, grandsons, Brandon and Dallas; brother Walter (Eveline), and sisters, Sylvia and Laurie (Kenneth). Numerous nieces and nephews are also left to mourn, as well as her cousin Bill and a legion of friends. She was predeceased by daughter Lyn, and her parents, Kayton and Anna. Veronica was born in Portage la Prairie in 1934, moved to Winnipeg in 1951, and married her husband Thomas in 1952. She worked at a number of retail locations and was assistant manager at Boes Accessories before retiring in 1994. Veronica enjoyed many winter vacations with friends and relatives in Hawaii, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Cuba, Palm Springs and San Diego. A memorial service will be held in celebration of Veronica's life on Thursday, June 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Temple, Buntain Chapel, 400 Hargrave. Parking available at rear of church. Rev. Bruce Martin presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
