ANNA MARIA PECCHIA (nee BUSNARDO) On June 16, 2007, at the River East Personal Care Home, with her children at her side, at the age of 86. Ann was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Joe Pecchia in 1999; her parents, Giovani and Eliza Busnardo, and her sister Lydia Busnardo. She is survived by her daughter Adele Walker and husband Norman; her daughter Frances Baldwin and granddaughters, Susanne, Andrea (Rob Kos), Aynsley, and their father Warren Baldwin; her sisters, Natalie Popp (Mike), Vera DiGenova (Nunzio); her brothers, Eliseo Busnardo (Marylin), Romolo Busnardo (Ellen), as well as many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Richard and Diane Smith. Ann spent her early years in Winnipeg and then moved to Pointe du Bois after marrying Joe in 1942, where they spent many happy years together raising their daughters before returning to Winnipeg. Ann had an incredible talent for sewing, knitting, and needlepoint and could always be found with a knitting needle or crochet hook in her hands. She loved to entertain family and friends with her cooking prowess. Her greatest joy were her granddaughters who cherish so many memories of adventures and time shared with their Grandma. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue with Reverend Father Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family would like to express sincere thanks to all of the staff at the River East Personal Care Home for their loving care over the past three years, and especially the staff of Charity Lane for their exceptional compassion.
