He is survived by brother Bob, and predeceased by sister Margaret; brothers Dan and Gordon. Lorne was born in Treherne, Manitoba and started working at an early age, and retired in 1982 after 38 years of service at the phones (M.T.S.). He met Florence, the love of his life, in Boissevain. They were married in 1951, moved to Steinbach in 1963, Selkirk in 1971 and then to Winnipeg in 1992 to be closer to family. He missed Florence dearly, who passed away in 2003. Mickey was a man who enjoyed time with family playing cards, coffee with friends, and visiting with neighbours. He loved having a clean car and going to baseball games. One of his passions, until his last day, was riding his bike. Dad will be laid to rest with his beloved wife. A celebration of Lorne's life will be held Wednesday, June 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted in his name at the Grace Hospital, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3J 3M7. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME 885-9715
