MARGARET ALZUBAIDI
Date of Passing: Jun 10, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ALZUBAIDI Peacefully, on June 10, 2007, with the morning sun shining upon her face and surrounded by her family, our beloved mother and grandmother Margaret Eva Alzubaidi passed away at the age of 66, following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Mom was born and raised in Stoke-On-Trent, England where among other things she thoroughly enjoyed her time working as a painter at the Royal Doulton pottery factory. She left Stoke-On-Trent at age 15 and moved to London to care for her ailing sister. During the years she was living in London and while working at the picture theatre, she met the love of her life Usama (Sam) Alzubaidi, a love affair that would last 43 years. Mom and Dad were married in England and it was there that their three children were born. They immigrated to Canada in 1968 settling in Winnipeg. Mom worked at various places, including Child and Family Services as a home childcare worker and at Woolco in the advertising department, as well as a few other retail outlets. She was a lover of nature and found lasting enjoyment observing the many different plants, animals, rocks and landscape she encountered. Her love of nature, gardening and travel led her into becoming both a florist and an accomplished artist. When dad passed away in 2002, Mom moved to Vancouver a year later to be near her daughter and granddaughters. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Harry (Maryellen and Haley), Tyrone; daughter Nadia (Reid); granddaughters, Amanda and Ashley; sister Mary Kapitan of Arborg, MB; brother John (Cath) Tweedie in England; niece Georgina (Blake) of Arborg, MB; her special friend Surik, and numerous family members throughout the world. In lieu of flowers, Mom requested that those that wish to make donations make them to World Vision to help children less fortunate in the world. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Phone 586-8044. Rest in Peace Mom for You're now Our Special Angel
