NELLY OLGA HARRIS (nee BETTEX) June 19, 1911 June 16, 2007 On Saturday, June 16, 2007, Nelly died at the Poseidon Care Centre, at the age of 96 years. Mother was born in Neuchâtel, Switzerland to Marie-Rose and Robert Bettex. She came to Canada at age nine and worked at various jobs. Finally, working as an usherette at the Capitol Theatre, mom met and married Harold. Living in the Fort Rouge area for over 40 years, they had four children, John (Joan), Yvonne (Gerry) Boyd, Phil (Sheila), and Simone. They were blessed with nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mom loved nature flowers, birds, animals and her beloved mountains. In later years, Mom and Dad took several trips to Europe as well as many trips to see friends on the West Coast. Mom was predeceased by her husband Harold; sisters, Gaby (Jack) Randall, Lulu (Swain) Johannesson; brothers, Willy (Helen) and Charlie Bettex, and brother-in-law Robert (Marguerite) Harris all together again. A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson In The Park Cemetery. Much thanks to the staff at Poseidon Lodge for their care to both Mom and Dad since 1995.
