Mom was born in Winnipeg and spent her entire life here. She met our dad after he immigrated to Canada from Ukraine and they married on June 8, 1935. Mom was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and we were truly blessed to have had her in our lives for so many years. Mom was extremely proud of her family and we could always count on her support in any of our endeavours. She was a woman of great integrity and touched the lives of many people. She had a wonderful smile that just lit up her face she was always a lady in every respect. She took pride in her home and enjoyed cooking, baking and preparing traditional Ukrainian food. Her welcome invitation always included have something to eat . All of her life, Mom had a wonderful circle of friends and relatives. She cherished these relationships. In her early years mom was involved with the I.O.D.E., C.U.A.C. Community Club, and Holy Family Nursing Home Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church U.C.W.L.C., and especially enjoyed helping make perogies and attending their bingo nights. When her family was grown Mom went to Success Business College to take a bookkeeping course. She then went on to work at the Eaton's Mail Order for many years. Mom loved to socialize with friends and relatives, whether it was a formal occasion or just a casual evening. She was an avid reader all her life and instilled this passion in her children. Her other favourite pastimes over the years included playing bridge, bowling, the cottage at Grand Beach, Manitoba Theatre Centre and travel presentations. Anne and Bill loved to travel. Over the years they travelled to Asia, Europe, Hawaii, many places in Canada and the United States and also several trips to Ukraine. They had wonderful memories of their travels, of times spent with relatives and friends, and meeting new friends along the way. Mom, we love you and will miss you terribly but we know you have been reunited with Dad to continue your journey together. Pallbearers will be David Solohub, Doug Blaschuk, David Garrity, and Todd Atamanchuk.
