ZSOFIA EORI It is with great sadness on June 16, 2007 at Oshawa, ON our Anya and Nagymama, Sophia Eori passed away peacefully. Sophia was born on December 17, 1919 in Hungary and came to Winnipeg in 1957 with her husband Jozsef, their two children and dad's cousin Ernö. Her first job upon arriving in Winnipeg was at the old Winnipeg General Hospital - working in the laundry department. She later worked at Bata Shoes, Bristol Aerospace, retiring from Bowing Aerospace. Sophia was a wonderful Anya and Nagymama who was always there to help her children and grandsons in any way she could. She was predeceased by her husband Jozsef in 1991; grandson Leslie and son-in-law Bela in 1996; sister Ilonka, and brother Gyula. Sophia is survived by her son Leslie (Linda); daughter Elizabeth; grandsons, Tim (Sandy), Barry (Barb); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan, Kathryn, Liam and Jenna. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. She is also survived by her sister Jolan and family in Hungary. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Interment will follow. Cremation has taken place. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB R2L 9Z9.
