FRED GRUNDMANN January 8, 1969 - June 18, 2007 Predeceased by his father (Friedrich) and mother (Renate), Fred is survived by seven siblings, Gudrun (Hubert predeceased) Weiss, Norrie Grundmann, Thekla (Darrell) Isford, Olaf (Cathy) Grundmann, Esther (Doug) McGimpsey, Del (Sharlene) Grundmann, Dorothy Grundmann and 15 very special nieces and nephews, and five great-nephews and a great-niece. Fred was born in Winnipeg; he was the seventh of eight children. His first entrance to the family was his crooked smile, one that we will remember. After graduating from High School, he went on to explore the continent of Australia, worked at the Free Press, various places and lastly at McDonalds, where he earned Employee of the Month. He contracted diabetes at the age of eighteen, something that consumed his life. Despite that, he was a fellow who loved his family. He was often found teaching his nieces and nephews Ninja style karate, just to get a laugh. He loved playing and watching sports; he did both with great intensity. Fred's compassion was moving, his soft heart touching many. Fred your youthful outlook and your love for our family will be truly missed. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with interment in Sunnyside Cemetery.
