Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAE FLORENCE LITVAK On May 31, 2007, Mae Litvak passed away at the Luther Home, at the age of 84 years. Mae is survived by her daughter Elaine; son David, as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Norman, and her sisters, Belle, Madge and Esther. Mae was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on January 5, 1923, the youngest daughter of Jacob and Edith Demels. On March 20, 1949, she married the love of her life, Norman Litvak, and they spent the next 56 years together in a marriage truly made in heaven. She loved him until the day that she died. Mae was employed as a teacher's aide at Montcalm and Lord Roberts Schools and because of her easygoing nature, helpful demeanor and sense of humour, was popular with students and teachers alike. She was a loving wife, mother and aunt who enjoyed spending time with friends and family and she would always lend a helping hand or a sympathetic ear to anyone who needed it. She had an infectious smile and laugh that could light up a room. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her. Even though Mae faced many challenges during her last four years, she always maintained a sense of humour and a positive attitude towards life. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 4 at the Etz Chayim Synagogue with interment at Rosh Pina Memorial Park. We wish to thank Deborah Davis of Etz Chayim Synagogue, Helen Alder of Jewish Child and Family Services, and Mae's personal companions, Rebecca and Nellie for their care and support of Mae and her family. Donations, in Mae's name, can be made to Jewish Child and Family Services or Children's Heritage Fund - care of Lord Roberts School. A joint unveiling for Mae and Norman will take place on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rosh Pina Memorial Park. She will be greatly missed. May her memory be a blessing to us all.
