ROBERT GLENN KNIGHT 1928 2007 Glenn passed away suddenly and peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Selkirk General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Knight and his sister Marge Dufresne. Dad leaves to mourn his companion and special friend Beatrice Still of Selkirk and her family; his children, Gloria (Andy) Chizick of St. Andrew's, MB, Glennis (Brenda) Knight of Regina, SK, Glenda (Sam) Edwardsen of Warren, MB, and Garnet (Jaylene) Knight of St. Andrew's, MB; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Charles Bell of Hamiota; brother-in-law George Dufresne and family in Ontario, California, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Dad's quick wit and friendly demeanor was a joy to all who had the opportunity to get to know him or work with him. Dad was the Manager of the Co-op Store in Marquette, and a member of the Federated Co-op Ltd. in Winnipeg for over 25 years. In addition, he managed a motel chain throughout the States for a number of years prior to returning to Manitoba for his retirement. Music was our father's passion and as an accomplished musician, in the past enjoyed performing and playing in a band for weddings, socials, and events throughout Manitoba. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, June 26 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, with Rev. Brad Elliott officiating. A private family interment will be held at Hamiota Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or the Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2W 1T9.
