Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMMA (EMMY) WENDL (nee GRUENKE) Peacefully on June 20, 2007 Emmy, beloved mother and oma passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1984. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Chris (Cheryl) and John; daughter Rosemarie (Gord); granddaughter Jamie; sisters, Lotte (Robert), Hulda (Heinz), Alma (Gunther) and Marriane, and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born into hardship (Second World War) and lived through many difficult times all her life. Her strong faith in the Lord helped her through all her life's challenges. Mom was the pillar of strength that kept her family together. She was a positive influence in many of the lives she touched. Mom came from overseas in 1956. She met and married Joseph in 1957. She worked many years as a RPN/RN. She managed an electronics store for years also, all while raising a family. She enjoyed life to the fullest even through the difficult times always maintaining a positive attitude with the Lord at her side. After the family was attended to she found time for herself enjoying many a winter vacation at her home in Florida. She will be dearly missed by all who really knew her. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Baptist Church, Selkirk with interment to follow at the St. Clements Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Emmy's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
