VICTOR STEVEN SAVINO January 20, 1947 June 22, 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved son, Victor Steven Savino on June 22, 2007 at the St. Boniface Hospital as the age of 60 years. His memory will be treasured and fondly remembered by his mother Myrtle Savino; sons, Joseph and Victor Jr. and their mother Barb Rielle; daughter Shannon Savino Armstrong of Ottawa; sisters Sandra Robertson (Robert) and Judith Vedova (Ronald). Victor was predeceased by his father Victor Savino Sr. Victor was born in Timmins, Ontario and graduated from Carlton University with a Bachelor of Arts, later received his law degree from the University of Saskatoon, and a Masters of Law from Dalhousie University. Victor founded a very well known Winnipeg law firm and was renowned for his negotiation skills and contributions to the Aboriginal Community. He was a major editorial contributor to native newspapers and was both well known and respected across Canada. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at the MICU unit at the St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Addictions Foundations of Manitoba, 3rd floor 1031 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R8 or a charity of choice.
