BEATRICE GEORGINA DAYTON April 18, 1918 - June 22, 2007 With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, on Friday, June 22, 2007 at Grace General Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her children, George, Robert (Irma) and their children, Stacey (Darren) and daughter Azlyn, Stephanie (Dan) and Jeffrey, Roy (Gail) and their children, Kaitlin, Chelsea and Melissa, Jean (Richard) and their children, Charlotte, Justin and Whitney, and Gail (Clay). Georgina also leaves to mourn her sister Patricia Hunt, a great circle of friends, loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Georgina was predeceased by her loving husband Charlie, her parents, George and Georgina Bailey (nee Squair), her siblings, Allen, Hedley, and Alma (Kelly). Georgina was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the Marquette area. She was always an outgoing, fun loving, energetic person with dreams of travel. Her dreams were partially realized when she joined the RCAF Women's Division in 1942. There she met the love of her life Charlie Dayton. They began their married life in Trail, B.C., but soon returned to Manitoba, ultimately settling in St. Francois Xavier. There they raised their family inspiring community spirit in their children by extensive involvement in the local Community Club and Ladies Auxiliary. After Charlie's passing, Georgina carried on, surprising many, including her family, by learning to drive again, conquering her fear of water, traveling with her sister Pat and her continued enthusiasm for history, genealogy and rekindling the friendships she formed with the members of the RCAF Women's Division. Recently Georgina moved to Winnipeg starting a new chapter in her life until her passing. Viewing will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2007 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Service to be held Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Headingley United Church, 110 Bridge Road, with interment immediately following at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the emergency staff at Grace General Hospital for their kindness and attention to our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Georgina's name to the St. Francois Xavier Historical Society, 1060 Highway 26, St. Francois Xavier, MB, R4L 1B4, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
