CODY JOHN ZANKOWSKI Peacefully, on June 22, 2007, with his family by his side, Cody John Zankowski passed away at the Children's Hospital. Cody leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Calvin (Evelyn) Zankowski and Denise (Mike) Bertosa; his brother Wesley and sister Bailey; grandparents, Melvin and Esther Zankowski, Bernice Monkman (Ben); Great Baba Zankowski; Great Nanna (Russell) Andrew, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cody was born at St. Boniface Hospital on January 21, 1992. He attended Prairie Rose Elementary School and Andrew Mynarski VC School. Cody spent the past year in the wonderful care of St. Amant, where he won the hearts of those who took care of him with his bright smile and infectious laughter. Appropriately named Gentle Warrior' in his Aboriginal culture, Cody bravely fought many health issues and illnesses during his precious life. Throughout it all, he never lost his ability to smile and laugh. Without uttering a single word, Cody taught us so many wonderful things. We are so grateful for the time we had with him and the ways he enriched our lives. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's (German) Roman Catholic Church at 355 Andrews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Amant, Cerebral Palsy Association or Children's Hospital.
