DAVID (WILSON) KING
Born: Jun 25, 1955
Date of Passing: Jun 26, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID (WILSON) KING June 25, 1955 - June 26, 2007 Suddenly on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, David's mortal soul left this earth. Remaining to forever cherish David's memory are his beloved wife Alice and his loving son Alex; his father and mother, Reverend Walter King and Dorothy; mother-in-law (Ma) Mona Muise and her companion Bruce; eight siblings along with their families, as well as many other relatives that will miss him. He was predeceased by his brother Tom in 2006. Born in Ontario in 1955, when David was quite young he chose to move to Manitoba and find his own way in the world. A pleasant young man, he had the gift of gab and the smile of a salesman and that took him into sales. He met Alice in 1981, and after being a couple for many years, decided to marry her on May 30, 1987. Alex was born later that year and cemented their marriage and joy. David doted on Alex and wanted to teach him everything he knew. He didn't feel that he was done teaching, but Alex was and will always be his pride and joy. David started working for Mondo Foods 20 years ago and was loyal to the company and the company was loyal to him. Mondo Foods helped Dave and Alice, in the last few months, to get through these very difficult times. Alice and her family send thanks to the management and staff. Making many friends throughout his life, David was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and their curling leagues. His friends there are more family than friends as all of them will remember their brother fondly. His Eagle brothers and sisters also helped the family and are all thanked and loved. David's voice started the International Curling Bonspiel that is about to celebrate 16 years. He started a charity fund to help a family in need, and that fund changed a little girl's life and that of her family. His heart was as big as his voice and for that we are all grateful. His friends are counted in the hundreds and he would have walked through fire for any of them, as they would have for him. People he met from the Eagles, baseball, curling and work will always remember him. All of his friends were special to him, but his biggest cheerleaders in the past few years were George and Elena Spiridak from the Olympia Diner, where David spent much time and took comfort. Thank you for caring so much. David's funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. in the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7, or to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. David will always be missed; there will be an empty place in our hearts until we see him again WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665

David was an action-oriented guy, doing whatever he set his mind to, most often in service of others. He was very grateful and overwhelmed with the love and kindness of the De Nardi family (his employers). I am grateful to have been involved in his growth when he lived with us during his 20s and admired his fortitude in making the hour and a half trek to work in 40 below Winnipeg wiinters. Closest uncle to Sarah Jane and Christopher, while we share the sorrow with Alice, Alex, and Mona, along with friends and family we cherish the memories. - Posted by: Joanne King (Family) on: Jun 28, 2007
