TINKA KIRASIC (PAVLICIC) June 26, 2007 It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother (Baka), and great-grandmother. With family by her side, she passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Vlado; daughter-in-law Mirjana; granddaughter Davorka, her husband Andrew, and their children, Emma, Noah and Luke; granddaughter Suzana, her husband Cory and their children, Mathew and Julianna; brother Dragan, sister-in-law Wanda, and nephews, Tony and Robert. She was predeceased by her husband Ivan; parents, Vencislav and Dragica, and brother Franjo. Baka was born on July 14, 1920 in Croatia, married Ivan in the fall of 1941 and welcomed the arrival of their only child in 1942. Baka was left to raise their son on her own, after the death of her husband in the Second World War. With the help of her brother Dragan, she immigrated to Canada in 1972. Baka was employed by the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature for 12 years before her retirement, when she enjoyed reading as well as watching her family grow. Special thanks to Baka's homecare aide Zelka, VON nurse Diane, and all of the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital.
