He was predeceased by brothers, William and Cornelius, and twin sister Helen. Jake was born on November 16, 1918, in Millerowa, Russia. He came to Canada at early age and settled in Morden, Manitoba, where he grew to be a respected man in the community. He began his working life with J. P. Riediger Sons in Morden, but he always said his best working years were spent as Treasurer of the Canadian and General (North American) Conferences of Mennonite Brethren Churches in Winnipeg. He retired after 22 years with the conference, and quickly took up the hobbies of gardening, woodworking, golfing and puttering around. Always energetic, Jake was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed dearly. A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 4 at Fort Garry Mennonite Brethren Church, 1771 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jake's memory may be made to the Dream Manitoba project of the Manitoba Mennonite Brethren Conference. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 2146 Main Street 339-5555
