Date of Passing: Jun 16, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERINA IAFOLLA 1920 2007 Peacefully, after a long illness, Alberina Iafolla passed away on June 16, 2007 in Villalago, Italy. She leaves to mourn her passing Elia, her husband of 63 years, and two sons, Nick (Bonnie) of Winnipeg and Felice (Lynn) of Toronto. She will also be sadly missed by grandchildren, Marc (Nadine), Suzanne, Katherine, Tony and Paul. Alberina and her two young sons came to Canada in 1952 to join Elia who had immigrated two years earlier. Together they raised their family and started one of the first Italian grocery stores in Winnipeg. Many Italian families will remember shopping at the store on William Avenue after Sunday services at the old Holy Rosary Church. Even though they always cherished what Canada had given them, in 1973 Alberina and Elia retired to their beloved Italy. We remember Alberina as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a good friend to many. Rest in Peace, Mom.
