BERTHA MARGARET GEISLER Bertha Geisler passed away peacefully at the Selkirk and District General Hospital on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the age of 79 years. She leaves to mourn her children, Linda (Lawrence) Dushnicky, Bonny (Robert) Wynnobel and Fred Geisler; beloved grandchildren, David, Daniel, Bonny, Michael, Nicholas, Fiona (Kirk), Cory (Kristen), as well as great-grandchildren, Jaxx and Nash. Bertha was predeceased by Ludwig (Louie), her husband of 46 years, and her sisters, Ella French, Ethel Borgfjord, Carrie Alexander, Christine Poole, Laura Kehler and brother Ivan. Bertha was born on March 2, 1928 in Argyle, Manitoba, the daughter of Holmgeir and Olive (Lytle) Isfeld. The family moved to East Selkirk and then to Winnipeg where Bertha met her husband and had three children, the family then moved to Selkirk. After raising her children Bertha enjoyed working at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre (1974 to 1989) in the Housekeeping department. Her family meant everything to Bertha and she was happiest at family get-togethers. Bertha thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bertha was a member of the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Women's Group and the Icelandic League. Bertha enjoyed the regular barn dances not to dance but to take pictures. Bertha's favourite hobby was photography and to prove it there is a collection of pictures. Thanks to Bertha's son Fred she was able to live at home till her recent illness. Those who wish to make a donation to the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church, Box 65, Selkirk, Manitoba, R1A 2B1. A thank you is extended to Dr. Speer, Dr. Racette and the nursing staff for their compassionate care they extended to mom. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church with viewing one half hour prior to service. Pastor Stan Richards officiating. Following the lunch, interment will take place at the Glen Eden Cemetery. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
