CLIFFORD LAURENCE COOK Peacefully on June 27, 2007 at the age of 93, with his family at his side, at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, Clifford Laurence Cook of Komarno, went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Cliff leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 58 years, Rosella; his children, Lois Matis (Steve) of Komarno, Lorine Waters (David) of St. John, NB, Beryl Singbiel (Rudy) of Fraserwood and Keith (Lois) of Komarno; his grandchildren, Stacey Matis (Darryl), Shelley Matis, Sharmon Matis (Clayton), Karla Singbiel (Mike), Lorne Singbiel, Melissa Cook (Barry), Christine Cook, Rachelle Cook and Megan Cook; his brothers, Fred and Wesley; his sisters, Marge Stabner and Rose Stabner. Cliff was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Rose; brothers, William, Herm, John and Arnold; sisters, Muriel and Laura. Cliff was born to Bill and Rose Cook on May 20, 1914 at Steep Rock, the fifth of 11 children. His love of horses began at an early age, riding his first horse alone at the age of three and continued throughout his entire life, selling his last horse at the age of 90. Cliff was well known for his horse racing skills, winning many races. He was often heard to say What a ride, but ouch! Cliff was also a very fast runner and won many prize ribbons at community and Sunday School picnics. Cliff was a loving and devoted husband and father, marrying the love of his life, Rosella Plomp in October 1948, where together they raised their four children, first on Peonan Point where they ranched and fished and then at Steep Rock. They retired to Victoria, BC for three years and then returned to Manitoba in 1969, settling at Komarno where he farmed until the age of 90 and where he lived until his passing. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made in Cliff's honour to the charity of your choice. A celebration of Cliff's life will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faulkner Community Hall with viewing prior to the service. Pastor Dan Shmelinski will officiate. Interment will follow at the Faulkner Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be: nephews, Rick Cook, Donnie Cook, Chuck Gall, Lyle Cook, Doug Cook, family friend Ernie Benedictson. The Honorary Pallbearers will be his nine grandchildren. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 11 Timothy 4:7 Arrangements Entrusted To ANDERSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Ashern, Manitoba 1-866-293-4951
