HELEN GWENDOLINE (GWEN) INGIMUNDSON (PRUDEN)
Date of Passing: Jun 25, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN GWENDOLINE (GWEN) INGIMUNDSON (nee PRUDEN) On June 25, 2007 at home, surrounded by family, Gwen took her last breath and entered the Light. She had lived on this earth for 94 years and 10 days. She celebrated life more with every passing year and so it was with regret she left her children, Frank Ingram (Merly), Peggy Pallmann, Alan Ingimundson (Leona), Lesley Lindberg (Elof), grandchildren, Ron Paellmann, Jacquie Paellmann, Carol Pallmann (Pete), Devon Pallmann (Elizabeth), Mia Ingimundson, Ulrika Gagnon (Gerald), Ann-Kristin Hewitt (Sann), Paul Ingram, great- grandchildren, Carly Turner (Tyler), Wesley Emms, Mollie Pallmann, Gabriel Bentheim, Elana Bentheim, David Pallmann, Hannah Gagnon; great-great-granddaughter Olivia Pallmann and honorary granddaughter Karin Rensfelt. She was predeceased by her husband Frank (1980), parents, Isabella (nee Taylor), and Thomas Pruden, and siblings, Cathrine Aikens, Marion Robinson, Fred Pruden, Victoria Linklater, Jake Pruden, Eveline Gatehouse, Bernice Pruden and Dougie Pruden. She was born in Selkirk, proud of her English, Scottish and Cree heritage, and also a proud Canadian. She had an avid interest in sports, particularly baseball, curling and hockey. She loved animals, and was a steward of the earth. She never sat on the sidelines or spoke with regret. She moved through life listening, learning and growing fully engaged. She began painting at 91 and had her first art show at 94. Her humour was precious, her compassion great and her love boundless. Her family, including dogs Bear and Heidi, were her greatest joy. Among her many great friends she had a special bond with Manson, the family Rotweiller. She will be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In our immediate family we have lost our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In our extended family an era ended with Auntie Gwen's passing. Grief never ends but it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. The sense of loss must give way if we are to value the life that was lived. found in her dresser drawer the day she died. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 329 Clandeboye Ave., Selkirk, with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Gwen's honour to the Winnipeg Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

I don't know when I'll be back to visit, dearest Grandma, but you are in my heart every day. The care you took of all of us, and Dad and me living so far away your coming to be with us when I was growing up, is a testament to our care as a family that you set and I hope to carry forward. I miss you.... - Posted by: Mia Ingimundson (Granddaughter ) on: Nov 03, 2023

Six years already? Many times, even today, when I have a question, my first thought still is "I'll ask mom". I suppose this'll never end. Though weak during her last few days, this lady stayed wise and could still ride a joke. I visit her stone maybe once a year now. I smile with her and look around. It's comforting to see she's among so many friends. Peace be with you, mom. - Posted by: Tad Ingimundson (Son) on: Jun 15, 2013
