Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE SHEWCHUK It is with sadness we announce the passing of Florence at her home, after a long battle with cancer on June 29, 2007. She was 78 years of age. Florence is survived by her children, Pat Anderson, Gary (Wendy) Wasylnuk, Cindy (Steve) Greentree, Murray (Teresa) Wasylnuk; grandchildren Colin and Brent Anderson, Mitchell and Mason Wasylnuk, Jay and Stephanie Fraser, and Mason Walker. She was born in Springside, Saskatchewan where she and her 12 siblings grew up on the family farm. In her late teens she moved to Toronto to live with her sister. Florence raised her family in Winnipeg, and for a short time moved to Kelowna where she opened and ran her own restaurant (Frozina's). In the 1990s she returned to Winnipeg to settle into retirement. Mom was very active during her retirement. Her spare time was spent socializing with her many friends and cooking for both fun and profit. She was involved with the Foresters, B.V.M., and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Her favorite pastimes included cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays, watching curling, knitting, playing bingo, and cards (Luperville). She loved growing her own vegetables and attending to her flower gardens. Florence cherished her time with her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow and discover all that life has to offer. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Riverview Health Center 3 East for their care, compassion, and humor during our Mother's stay. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 2P4. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St. 338-7111

Mom, All my life I was able to wish you all the best that you deserved on your special day, your birthday of March 3rd. Even though I am no longer able to personally wish you a happy and special day in the traditional sense, I know that you will remain in my heart forever and that I can still send you a reminder of my love anytime I want. I love you Mom and deeply miss you from the bottom of my heart. Love, Murray. - Posted by: Murray Wasylnuk (Family) on: Mar 03, 2008

To know Flo....you had to know what a great cook she was, a shrewd card player and the funniest bingo buff there ever was ! Here in BC she was' Mom' to many and it wasn't because of the thousands of perogies she and Cindy would make and share ! It was her huge heart, big smile and those Ukrainian words she'd throw out once in a while. I'm sure some of which remain un-translated !! Flo...... to know you WAS to love you..... you made it so easy !! Sleep well 'Mom'........ you made it 'home' xoxox - Posted by: Karen Richardson (Friend) on: Jul 04, 2007
