SHANNON JEAN KEMP It is with profound pain and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Shannon Jean Kemp on June 28, 2007, in Vancouver, BC. Jean was born and raised in Winnipeg, the city that she loved, and was a longtime resident of River Heights. Jean had many talents. Among other things, she was an excellent cook who delighted in sharing her wares with others, a green-thumb gardener and, in earlier times, a skilled craftsperson. Ever youthful and vibrant, Jean could engage anyone with her remarkable wit, humour, and sparkling personality. She loved people and one of her fondest activities was chatting and joking with her many friends and acquaintances, from the Grant bus driver to the grocery cashier to the snow plough operator. During her earlier years at the social hub of her mother, Fanny Koretz', home, a visit with Jean was most sought-after and prized by the constant stream of visitors. She simply lit up the room with her mischievous and fun-loving ways. Jean adored animals and her beloved dog, Delilah, brought her great joy. Most of all, Jean was an extraordinary mother, absolutely dedicated, selfless, caring, and always there when needed. She was the centre of her daughter Brenlee's universe and they shared a special bond that could not have been any closer. She has left an irreplaceable void. Her loss is devastating and she is sorely missed, more than words can express. If desired, messages can be sent to kemp322@telus.net or 1003 - 1485 W. 6th Avenue, Vancouver, BC.
