YOLANDE PEREUX 1923 - 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of Yolande Pereux announce her passing early Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Misericordia Health Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Alain; her son Hubert; her grandson Guy J.; her brother Jean Prejet, and her sisters, Odette Fouasse and Cecile Couture. Yolande will be lovingly remembered by her children, Raymond (Janet), Guy (Valerie), Rene (Jane) and Alain (Marge); her grandchildren, Raymond, Lianne, Justin, Stephan and Payton; and her great-grandson Kadin. She is survived by her sisters, Monique and Lorraine, and her brother Alban. She will be fondly remembered by her many cousins. Yolande was born and raised in Notre-Dames-de-Lourdes, MB. She married Alain Pereux in 1946 after he returned from the war. Together they lived in St. George, and in 1956 they moved to Fort Alexander where Alain and Yolande owned and operated the family general store while raising their five sons. When the family business sold, Yolande and Alain settled in Winnipeg where they continued their life together. Yolande was an exceptional cook who, throughout her life, prepared meals for her family and friends. Her cookbook collection was vast and well used, and she took great pleasure in reading all of them and creating new recipes. Yolande also enjoyed playing cards and having a good glass of red wine. We wish to thank the St. Boniface Hospital staff and the long term care staff at the Misericordia Health Centre who helped to care for Yolande through her final days. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6.
