Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDY BRIAN SENEK It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandy Brian Senek on Sunday, July 1, 2007. Sandy died peacefully with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sandy was born on June 15, 1964, in Cochenour, Ontario. In 1971, his family moved to Russell, Manitoba. Sandy's charismatic personality and sense of humour earned him many friends. When he graduated from Major Pratt Collegiate in 1982 Dirt was voted Ideal Boy. That personable nature continued to make him many friends when he moved to Winnipeg in 1983. Sandy enrolled in a 10-month Graphic Arts course at Red River Community College which eventually landed him a job at Manitoba Hydro where he continued to work until his diagnosis in February 2005. Sandy had the opportunity to travel, visiting many exotic places; however, his favourite destination was Russell, which he still considered home. If he wasn't on the golf course, he was boating or ice fishing with his buddies on the Lake of the Prairies. Sandy also enjoyed solitary activities. He loved to jog and go for long walks. He loved music and taught himself to play guitar. Many weekends found him in the middle of a large circle of friends, singing and strumming his guitar. As important as his friends were, family meant everything to him. He especially shared a special relationship with his nephews and nieces. On June 23, 2007, after a six-year courtship, Sandy married his soulmate Louise Millier in a private ceremony. Left to cherish his memory are Louise; his parents Peter and Agnes Senek; sisters, Angie (Linton) Zimmer and Penny Chase; brother Tom (Gini); two sisters-in-law, Joanne (Pierre) Deniset and Monique (Kris) Navitka; his father-in-law Roger; and mother-in-law Lilianne. Uncle Sandy will be lovingly remembered by Dylan and Sawyer Chase, Alyssa Zimmer, Josh and Abby Senek, J.P., Katrine and Nicole Deniset, and Josée and Karine Navitka. His grandmother Mary Pitz, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and the many friends whose lives have been touched by Sandy will truly miss him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 778 Archibald Street, with a celebration of Sandy's life to be held in Russell at a later date. The family would like to express their extreme thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre, the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care and CancerCare Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice. J'taime, We Love You!
