HELEN GRACE MONDOR (WIEBE) -
Date of Passing: Jul 01, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN GRACE MONDOR (nee WIEBE) 1936 - 2006 On Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg, Grace Mondor (nee Wiebe), of Winnipeg, formerly of Chortitz, MB, aged 71 years, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She was the strongest person in our family, and the one that held us all together. She was the centre of our large family, and she guided us all with care and kindness. There was not a child around who was not welcomed by her loving arms. Her grandchildren and her newest great-grandchild were the light of her life. Her smile could brighten a room, and her laughter filled it. She dedicated her life to her family, and as her children grew up and began families of their own, mom continued to care for Rick and Steve with patience and love that we all learned from. She loved gardening, and even when she moved into an apartment, there were always plenty of plants surrounding her. Mom spent her last hours telling each and every one of us how special we were. Joking with us all, Mom's last words were her calling for her mom and soon after she passed into the Lord's arms. Our mother leaves to mourn children, Linda (Orlando), Lenard, Margaret, Richard, Suzanne (George), Robin (Angela), and Steven; grandchildren, Jonathan, Randi, Anthony, Donna, Shaun, Samantha, Melissa, Desiree, Katherina, and Abigail; great-grandchild Kaydence; brother Jake (Linda) and sister Mary; niece Melanie (Rob) and nephew Jason mom's buddy (Marcy); great-nieces, Lauren and Danica and great-nephew Noah. Also survived by her special Aunt Kate, as well as numerous family members Mom was predeceased by mother Mary, father Jacob, infant sister Mary Anne, infant daughter Kimberly, and husband Lester in 2006. Cancer may have taken mom's body but the good Lord has taken her soul. Viewing will be prior to the service only. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Wiebe Funeral Home, 121 8th St. in Winkler. Interment at Chortitz Cemetery with reception to follow. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and kindness, especially the nurses from Unit 7 Floor 5. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Grace's memory to Hope Centre Inc., 567 Henry Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 0T8.
