MANUEL TORRES It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father and grandfather Manuel Torres on July 2, 2007, at Seven Oaks Hospital, at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Luisa (Eduardo), and Lurdes (Duarte); five grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Kelly, Veronica, and Miguel; sister Margarida, who resides in Açores; and cousin Maria (José) Cabral in Winnipeg; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Manuel was predeceased by his wife Gilda Sousa; son Joao Manuel; his parents Antonio and Luisa; sisters, Isabel, Conceiçao, and Teresa. We would like to thank all of Manuel's relatives, friends and acquaintances that were involved and enriched Manuel's life over the years, in particular those people who showed him compassion and kindness. Thank you to the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, especially Stephanie and Connie, for your support and loving care. You were angels sent from above. We would also like to thank Father Kevin Smith of St. Joseph's Parish for a lovely prayer and blessing. Pallbearers will be Duarte, Graciano, Semiao, Carlos, Ernesto, and Boanerges. Prayers will be said on Friday, July 6 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. North. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 7 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with entombment in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to their favourite charity in Manuel's memory. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
