MONA AGNES GUNN (nee FAIRCHILD) Peacefully on July 2, 2007, in her 91st year, Agnes passed away at the Poseidon Care Centre. Agnes was born in Highgate in Oxford Township, Kent Co, Ontario, on August 28, 1916, the second eldest of seven children of Howard and Verna (nee Amos) Fairchild. They moved to Waskada, Manitoba, where Agnes graduated from grade 12 in 1935. Agnes married William Bill Gunn on August 22, 1940, at Old St. Andrews Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba. For the most part Agnes worked in the hospitality business. She retired as a banquet manager for the Gordon Hotels in 1982. Agnes resided at Riverside Lions Estate in St. Vital for over 17 years. She was very involved with the Tenants Association, at Riverside and was always willing to help out with all their functions. She loved playing cards, especially whist and cribbage. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1969; her parents; and her brothers, Amos, Harris, Frank and Ernie; her sisters, Mary Clarke and Harriet Bohonos. She is survived by her brother-in-law Gilbert Clarke; and her sister-in-law Arlys Fairchild; as well as many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Agnes' wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Interment will take place in Waskada, Manitoba, at a later date. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J.
