VIKTOR SADL With great sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband, caring father and adoring Opa, Viktor Sadl. He passed away peacefully with his wife and children at his side at St. Boniface Hospital on July 4, 2007 at the age of 62. He put up a courageous fight with cancer for two years. Left to cherish his memories and his wise teachings are his wife Kristina Sadl; son Tony Sadl, and daughter Veronica Thiffeault, son-in-law Ron Thiffeault, and grandchildren, Sarina and Kelsey Sadl and Alexander, Dominik and Nikolas Thiffeault. In 1970 Viktor, along with Kristina and Tony, who was one and a half years of age, immigrated to Canada. His sole purpose was to give his family a better life with more opportunities. Shortly after their arrival, Viktor obtained his Certificate of Accomplishment as a Mason through Red River College. Building and constructing was his greatest passion not only as a trade, but a hobby. Some of his proud accomplishments in the trade was being involved in the construction of CanWest Global Park, Portage Place, the new CancerCare facility and numerous homes and other buildings in the city and abroad. Viktor was genuinely talented, constructing newer and bigger projects every time, but not without putting a lot of thought and consideration into it before telling anyone about his ingenious ideas. His end result was always something left to be admired by all. Viktor's other greatest passion was wine making. The discussion of what type of grapes to purchase was an annual topic around the dinner table as fall approached. He got great satisfaction in serving it to others. With great honour, his wine making skills have been passed on to Tony and Ron. The family would like to thank CancerCare Manitoba, The Health Sciences Centre and The St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care for all the comfort, support and care they provided Viktor. Prayers will said on Friday, July 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 95 MacDonald Ave. with interment in the Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street. All are welcome back to the church hall for reception, following the interment. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
