(JOSEPH) HUBERT FLETCHER The world has lost a kind and gentle man. Hubert left us peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 just 15 days shy of his 95th birthday. Left to mourn his loss are his wife of 65 years, Hanna; son John (Irene); daughters, Doreen and Cleo (Gordon); grandchildren, Leah (Keith), Melanie (Mike), Phillip, Randy (Marlene), Robert, Timothy, Laura and Natasha; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Bryton, Brian and Brett; sisters-in-law, Ann and Eva, and many nieces and nephews. Hubert goes to join his son Edward; parents, Joseph and Phoebe Fletcher; brother Jim; sister Gladys, and brother-in-law Gareth. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Hubert attended Prince Arthur Elementary School and Moose Jaw Technical High School. He was employed by the C.P.R. in Moose Jaw and Winnipeg all his working life with the exception of the depression years and his military service in England during the Second World War. He then lived to enjoy 30 years of retirement. Hubert was an ardent bowler and an active member of St. Alphonsus Church in East Kildonan, including volunteer work at bingos and being the church bookkeeper for many years. A special thanks to Dr. Caners and the caring and compassionate staff at the Concordia Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 9 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier (parking at 300 Donalda Avenue). Flowers are respectfully declined. Those who wish, may make a donation to a charity of their choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
