It is with sadness that we advise Jack's passing on Saturday, June, 30, 2007 at the Minnedosa Personal Care Home. Born in Winnipeg, MB he was the only son of the late John (Jack) and Jeannie Stacey and had two sisters Elinor Almrud (deceased 1981) and Vera Ferguson of Vancouver, BC, also two children from a previous marriage. Jack attended Salisbury and Lord Wolseley schools and the Manitoba Business College. Worked for the Canadian Press and the Canadian Post Office. Later he began his career with Municipal duties in East Kildonan and Charleswood. With the formation of the Metropolitan Corporation of the greater Winnipeg he became assistant to the clerk of council attending all council and committee meetings. In the newly formed governing body he assumed duties in land surveys and real estate departments as secretary to technical advisory commission on the city properties taking early retirement in 1981. Jack was an avid golfer and curler belonging to Pine Ridge Golf Club and the Granite and Heather Curling Clubs. Jack and Joy Cormock (Madill) were married in 1982 and continued to live in Winnipeg until 1996 when they moved to Minnedosa. With this move Jack joined the Minnedosa Golf and Curling Club and continued to enjoy happy years with his sports. He will be missed and dearly remembered by his loving wife Joy; son Glen (Louise); daughter Janet Debenham of Winnipeg and four grandchildren, Christopher, Carolyn, Timothy and Jared; sister Vera Ferguson of Vancouver, nieces and nephews, also brother and sister-in-law Roy and Joan Madill of Minnedosa and their families. Cremation has taken place and in compliance with Jack's wishes there will be no funeral service, with a private interment to take place in the Boyd Cemetery, Bethany, MB. If desired donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society or a charity of choice. Minnedosa Funeral Service in care of arrangements.
