GORDON WILLIAM BUTLER 1936 - 2007 It is with great sorrow that the family of Gordon Butler announces his passing, on June 30, 2007. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Everett and Annie Butler, brother Albert, brother-in-law Bob Baverstock and his nephew Jim Butler. Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Muriel Laing and Eileen Baverstock, his brothers Jim Butler and Norman (Rowena) Butler and his nieces and nephews. Gordon lived much of his life on what was once a farm in St. James. His brother Norman moved their parents, along with Albert, Jim and Gordon, to the farm in about 1958. And it is there Gordon lived, surrounded by his family, and was later joined by Norman and Rowena, when they moved to the farm with their children, Linda, Norman, Jim and Ron, who shared a very special bond with their uncle. He loved his family and would light up when he saw us, and tell us about the latest sports event or a favourite western movie, and his latest country music tapes. Sports was very important to Gord. He was a faithful Blue Bomber fan, up-to-date on the latest stats, who was traded, who was signed and often shared his enthusiasm with Rowena. He was also a faithful Winnipeg Jets fan. Wrestling was huge in Gordon's life - he was a charter member of Pro Wrestling Illustrated Fan Club, he kept track of the matches, the stats of each wrestler, and particularly loved Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker and many more. Gordon will be terribly missed, but lovingly remembered by us all. He was a special man, and will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace, Sonny. We love you. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations may be made in Gordon's name to The Salvation Army. Cremation has taken place.
