Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON LESLIE GREENAWAY In the early morning of July 5, 2007, God sent a very special angel to escort our beloved husband, father, brother and friend to the gates of Heaven. Gordon made this last journey at the age of 61 after a difficult and courageous battle with diabetes. Left to remember him are his wife Gloria; daughter Gwenda (Vito); son Geoff (significant other Deanne); brother Lloyd (Rosemarie); sister-in-law Bev; brothers-in-law, Brian (Patricia) and Gordon (Colleen), and many dear and close nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Gordon was born in Winnipeg in 1946 and attended Tech Voc High School where he studied mechanics. He worked for Standard Aero for many years before venturing into self-employment in the automotive and industrial tool business, where he worked for the majority of his life. Gordon was also an accomplished professional photographer, specializing in weddings. Gordon and Gloria enjoyed 40 years together. They shared in everything and understood each other very well; a true example of meeting one's soul mate in life. Gordon was also proud of his children Gwenda and Geoff, never too shy to tell people what they were up to, he made sure they had their own identities and found their own paths in life and, together with Gloria, he prepared them well. Gordon enjoyed spending time with and telling people of his son-in-law Vito. Gordon also shared very special bonds with his only brother, Lloyd, as well as his favourite Aunt Laura. Gordon left an impression on everyone he met, and will be missed dearly. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. A reception in celebration of Gordon's life will follow. Gordon was a gifted storyteller, and guests are invited to come with a story (or two). He treasured laughter, and we welcome those who will share it with us. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association at 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C OS6. Our family would like to thank the many earth-bound angels that helped him through his final journey. Arrangements have been entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
