Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA MILLER December 5, 1931 - June 30, 2007 It is with great pain and sadness, that we announce the passing of a beloved and spirited soul. God has released her from her earthly pain. Left to mourn her, is her loving daughter Eva Rempel (and Len Nyliund); grandson Kevin Rempel (Ron); brother Steve Balasz and Olga (Aggie, Joe); sister Moncika; niece Gitta; great-nephew Daniel in Hungary; niece Susanna Macfarlane (Bob, Ralston); great-nieces, Lyndsay (Dereck, Braeden, Alex) and Kelly (Andrew). Daughters and sons - Jodie and David Tanner (Jennifer, Darren and Devin), Jocelyn and Wayne Lywack (Alisson, David), Pat and Ernie Guenther and family, Ron Miller and family. Friends Elizabeth, Kati, Edit and Joe and the many wonderful and loyal friends that she had made through the Hungarian Club who visited often, gave her love and support and kept her spirits up. Rev. Gaza Szemok visited and prayed with her often in her sickness. Eva was born in Tatabanya, Hungary. She was a beautiful and lively person, who, when the Hungarian Revolution took place in 1956, decided to leave the Communistic regime of the country. Most of our family escaped first, to stay in an Austrian Refugee Camp and then we were accepted to immigrate to this wonderful country of Canada. We lived in Kitchener, ON for 10 years, but then decided to settle in Winnipeg to be with our family. She met and married Jack Miller and the Miller family became ours. They had 25 years of good memories together - especially the fun in summer at their island on Lake of the Woods, near Kenora. She loved lake life, gardening, cooking wonderful Hungarian dishes. When our family would have a get-together, which was for any reason, she had to make at least five dishes all of them wonderful! She was thrifty enough to reuse foil wrap - but generous enough to give her time helping others and sharing ALL of her love!! After Jack's passing, she undertook many activities at the Hungarian House. She had energy to give and she loved giving to life again. She met friend Tibor Krebiech and life was good for several years until his passing two years ago. I will miss my mother so much our daily conversations, her constant help, for our rare friendship and especially, for her unconditional love. Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2007 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). My mom spent the last months of her life at the Jocelyn House . Jocelyn's family generously donated the home after she passed away of cancer, to terminally ill cancer patients. It is not just a hospice, but, an actual home. This house has been a Godsend for her and the other patients that have passed through it's doors. All are treated with respect, compassion and excellent medical care. My family thanks you - the administrators, health care workers, volunteers and patients. You have been our extended family - God bless you all, for you are all truly angels in this life! In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to The Jocelyn House, 177 Egerton Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 2W7, Attention - Eva Miller's Memory . Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.glenlawn.ca. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Lawn Funeral Home 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
