ROBERT ARTHUR (ROBBIE) KING We are very saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of our son, brother, uncle and friend. Robbie King (52) was a long-time Whitehorse, Yukon resident and well known there for his work with the Injured Workers Alliance. His family will lovingly remember their Robb; his mother and father, June and Gord of Edmonton; brother Chris (Debra) of Spruce Grove, AB; sister Cathy (Bruce) of St. Albert, AB; brother Richard (Joann) of Gimli, MB; Robb's nieces and nephews, Kelcey, Kara, Karston, Travis, Kyle, Jacquelyn, Jordan, Evan, and Braedan.; and his aunts and uncles in Winnipeg and Sarnia. Robb was predeceased by his sister Carol and brother David. Robbie will be sadly missed by his many friends and co-workers in Yukon, Alberta, Manitoba and especially by his dog Tuffy who was always by his side. Robb was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Edmonton before moving north. He was a well known Canadian Champion curler, and motorcycle road racer. Robb loved to have fun and touched many with his off-the-wall sense of humour and hilarious adventures. Many will remember Robbie for his caring, consideration, compassion and his willingness to lend a helping hand. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Robb's life will be held in the Mount McIntyre Centre, Whitehorse, Yukon on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. A remembrance with friends will be held at Cathy's residence in St. Albert, AB Tuesday July, 17 at 7:00 p.m. and a gravesite celebration will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg, MB August 2, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers or other tributes, donations to the Brain Injury Association of Canada may help others overcome the challenges Robb faced daily.
