Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELLA ISABEL FENNELL (nee MELDRUM) January 24, 1915 July 5, 2007 Peacefully on July 5, 2007 at the age of 92 years, Ella Fennell passed away at Grace General Hospital. Ella will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Ella was predeceased by her husband, Robert John, of 43 years, who passed away in 1985 and her sister, Margaret (Peggy) McKenzie, who passed away in 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy and Maureen (Rodniski) and son-in-law, Gerald; one niece, Isabel Bunning (John) and grandniece, Jennifer, of Vancouver; one nephew, Bruce McKenzie (Marilyn) and grandnieces, Natalie and Carly and grandnephew, Connor. She also leaves behind her good friend of many years, Edith Heaton. Ella was born in 1915 and grew up on a farm near Rosenort, MB. It was here that she met Bob, her childhood sweetheart. They were married and came to Winnipeg where Ella remained for the rest of her life. Ella worked at Grace Hospital in the business office for over 25 years, first on a part-time basis on weekends and then fulltime as her children grew older. She enjoyed her time working at the Grace very much and made many long-lasting friendships there. Ella was a very hard working and fine individual. She was very kind and friendly to others. Ella had a wonderful smile and found much happiness throughout her life. She loved talking and visiting with others. She enjoyed numerous trips to Hawaii with her husband Bob when they were younger. Ella also enjoyed living in her apartment, which she maintained up to the time of her hospitalization following a recent fall. Ella spent many happy hours reading numerous books from the Public Library and she looked forward to her weekly Saturday lunches at the Bay downtown. At this time, we would like to thank the staff on 4-South and the ICU Unit of Grace Hospital for the care and kindness shown to our mother. We would like to extend an additional thank you to all the friends who prayed for Ella while she was in hospital. Your prayers and well-wishes were greatly appreciated much more than words can say. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway Ave. with interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ella's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to The Salvation Army, 55 Donald Street, Suite 500, Winnipeg Manitoba, R3C 1L8. God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He knew the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, Peace be thine. It broke my heart to lose you but you did not go alone. For part of me went with you the day God called you home. Ever Remembered Ever Loved THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway - 783-7211 www.thomsonfuneralhome.com
