MARY MILNE (nee KOSOSKI) It is with deep sadness that we mark the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Mary Milne, at the Selkirk District Hospital, on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at the age of 94. We celebrate Mary's legacy of love, caring for family, friends, generosity and her sense of humour. Mary was predeceased by her husband John on June 28, 1986; her parents Agnes and Carl Kososki; her brother Joe; and sisters, Rose Wilgosh and Clara Andre. Mary is survived by four sons, Donald (Glenda), George (Rita), Arthur (Donna), Robert (Madeleine); and one daughter Agnes. Mary has 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Ladywood, MB, on May 12, 1913. When in Grade 3 the family moved to Beausejour where she attended school, and the family ran Kososki's General Store. Grade 12 was not available in Beausejour at that time, and Mary attended St. Joseph's Academy in St. Boniface. Mary retired from teaching in the Lord Selkirk School Division in 1973. She continued to substitute teach in the area and did a teaching term in Sprague, MB. While living in East Selkirk, MB, and teaching at Happy Thought School for 14 years, she became involved in school, church and community and charity work. She was a 50-year plus member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Women's League and held office several times. In her later years, Mary attended Notre Dame Church in Selkirk. Mary enjoyed travelling with tour groups, individuals and family throughout Canada, U.S. and England, Scotland and Europe. The family would like to thank all the staff that helped our Mum at Red River Place - you were considered friends. Thank you to the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at the Selkirk Hospital and Dr. Lindenschmidt for making sure Mum was comfortable in her final days. Thanks to Alma Yeo and Pat Goodman for your weekly visits to Mum - she looked forward to these visits and chats each week. Time may hide the sadness Smiles may hide the tears But the memories you left behind Will last throughout the years In lieu of flowers, please make a donation of your choice to Selkirk General Hospital Palliative Care, Red River Place Personal Care Home or CNIB. Hey Ma, we love you. Funeral will be held at St. Stanislaus Church, East Selkirk, MB, on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Dado Parrenas officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
