Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE NESTOR KOLISNYK 1917 - 2007 Peacefully on July 8, 2007, Lawrence Nestor Kolisnyk passed away at the age of 89, at Kildonan Personal Care Home. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Stella Kolisnyk, daughter Leslie Nolke of Calgary, son Lorne Kolisnyk (Tanis) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Sharon (Ulrik), Barry, Nicholas (Sarah), Laura, Jennifer, Dale; great-grandchildren Ben and Eve. Lawrence Kolisnyk was born in Winnipeg October 14, 1917, to William Nicholas Kolisnyk and Anastasia Smelsky. He was predeceased by his sisters, Hilda Stevenson and Jeannie Lozo and is lovingly remembered by his sister Audrey (Bart) Shaw and nieces. He served Canada in the Second World War, stationed in Kingston and Calgary. Lawrence worked for CN Rail for 36 years, retiring in 1979. He enjoyed card games with friends, square dancing, aquasize classes at Concordia/Kildonan pool, trips to Vancouver, Cuba, and summer times in Gimli. The family extends thanks and gratitude to the staff at KPCH, Dr. Thomas and Dr. Doermer for years of kindness and care. Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with Rev. Linda Parsons officiating.
