FREDERICK LAWRENCE GABEL September 13, 1927 July 8, 2007 Peacefully on July 8, 2007, Lawrence passed away at the Health Sciences Centre after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his father Frederick and mother Caroline. He will be sadly missed by his brother Don (Val) and sisters, Marjorie (Ian) and Carole (Bill), as well as nephews and nieces, Ken, Lisa, Jim, Leanne, Warren (Michelle) and Kristen. Born in Winnipeg, Lawrence had close attachments to family in and around Camper for much of his younger years. He enjoyed weekends and holidays at Gull Lake, where many hours were spent boating, playing horseshoes, card games, and socializing with friends and relatives. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a steady supply of stories and tales. Lawrence was employed by Bristol Aerospace for 48 years, and enjoyed the company and friendship of many co-workers. He retired in 1992. The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and homecare people who cared for Lawrence. Special thanks to Dr. D. Ross and Ruth at Kildonan Medical Centre. As was his express wish, cremation has taken place and a family gathering will be held at a later date. Donations in Lawrence's memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
