Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED BOUZOVETSKY (ONOFREYCHUK) (nee SIMCOE) It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Mildred Bouzovetsky on Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Victoria General Hospital. Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her son Christopher (Barbara); daughter Karen (Alexei); sister Shirley Conklin; brother Elvin (Vivian); best friend Nellie Grabowski, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her parents, William and Dora Simcoe; by her husbands, Tony Onofreychuk (1966) and Albert Bouzovetsky (1997); her brother Zane Simcoe; sister-in-law Olive Simcoe and nephew Raymond Simcoe. Mildred (Mitzi) was born in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba but lived her childhood and teenage years within the city of Winnipeg. She would often describe her early years with many fond memories of the North End and the many summers she spent with her grandmother and cousins on the family farm near Winnipeg Beach. In 1940 she married Tony Onofreychuk and moved to Winnipeg Beach where she raised her two children and welcomed the uncountable visits from friends and family during the beautiful summers beside the lake. After the passing of her beloved husband Tony, Mildred met Corporal Albert Bouzovetsky who was stationed at the nearby Gimli Air Force Base. Mildred and Albert married in the spring of 1973 and enjoyed many years together travelling to the West Coast on many occasions to visit friends and loved ones. In the winter of 2003 Mildred moved with her daughter to Winnipeg where she enjoyed many activities foremost of which were Ukrainian cultural events. Mildred will be remembered fondly for her love towards her family and friends, for her incredible ability to remember and reminisce and for her pride towards her Ukrainian heritage. She loved conversation (with those she knew and recently met), dancing, playing cards, bingo and tending to her amazing collection of houseplants. She will especially be remembered for her very kind heart and great sense of humour. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Greene and the staff at the Victoria General Hospital for the kindness, care, and compassion you showed Mildred and her family during her final hours. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Highway #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Vichnaya Pamyat GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
