Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH DOMANSKI On July 7, 2007, Joseph Domanski passed away at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. Joe is lovingly remembered by his wife, Eileen, daughter, Linda Davidson, and grandson, Christopher. He is also survived by brothers, Stanley (Adele) and Walter (Verna), sisters, Julie Fain, White Rock, BC, and Helen Budd (Roy) of Cass Lake, MN, brother-in-law, Nick Bodnarchuk, and several nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Anne Domanski, brothers, Frank and John, sister, Mary Bodnarchuk, and son-in-law, Roger Davidson. Joe was born May 9, 1918, in Melrose, MB, and later moved to Garson with his family. He enlisted in the army February 1942 and served in the Aleutian Islands until his discharge in 1945. He then married Eileen Thomson and just celebrated 62 years of marriage on June 30. Joe worked in auto collision repairs until September 1966, at which time he was severely injured at Carter Motors and was unable to work again. He suffered a great deal, never fully recovered, but with the loving care of Eileen was able to live another 40 years. Joe loved to spend his summers at the Matlock cottage. Here he spent hours out in the yard, fixing something or tending to his plants. He also grew the best tomatoes. Joe was a season ticket holder to the Blue Bomber games before the accident, and remained a loyal fan, who rarely missed listening or watching a football game. He also enjoyed hockey and wrestling. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In memory of Joseph Domanski, donations gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
