MARION EMERY - RUSSELL/HORSFALL The last of the Russell clan has passed on. December 4, 1917 - July 9, 2007 Marion grew up in the North End and went to Aberdeen School and St. John's Tech. where she met her first love, Clifford Horsfall whom she married in 1942. Mom was widowed shortly after in 1943, she then married Ken Emery in 1954 and had a wonderful life. Mom enjoyed life and having social times at the Fort Rouge Legion and for 45 years every summer at 34 - 3rd Ave., Grand Beach. For many years Mom was a member of the Royal Purple - Winnipeg, achieving the role of Honoured Royal Lady. For the last two and a half years Mom has been residing at The Sharon Home on Magnus Avenue where she received great care - but not beer, cigarettes or pork chops. At 89 and a half, Mom has gone on to be with her friends and relatives that left the party before her and let's hope the music is playing and the dancing has begun. Mom is survived by her sons, Clifford Horsfall (Debbie) of Kelowna, BC and George Emery (Judy) of Winnipeg; her grandchildren, Christiaan, Melody and Clifford, and her dear friend Linda Overton. A visitation will be held at Thomson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will commence at 1:30 p.m on Friday, July 13, 2007 in Thomson Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Best officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, Manitoba R2L 1X3, in the name of Marion Emery to help the beautiful animals Mom loved so much.
