Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL ARTHUR (MICK) MANN It is with sadness we announce the passing of Michael Arthur Mick Mann at the age of 57, on Monday, July 9, 2007, with family and friends at his side at the Brandon Regional Health Centre Palliative Care Unit, Brandon, Manitoba. Mick was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Mabel Mann; parents-in-law Fred and Vivian Smith; brother-in-law Jim White; and loyal pets, Misty and Gypho. Left to share his memories are his wife of 36 years and best friend, Ginger; four brothers, Dave (Denise), John (Sharon), Jack (Paulette), Larry (Wendy); six sisters, Kathleen (Gary), Marjorie, Audrey (Wally), Myrna (Mike), Karen (Dennis), Beverly (Carl); brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob (Nellie), Bryan (Judy), Melvin (Charlotte); and numerous nieces, nephews and his many friends. Mick was born in Teulon, Manitoba, raised in Hodgson, and attended high school in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. In 1970, Mick and Ginger made Thompson, Manitoba, home where he worked as a mechanic. He was involved with hockey and baseball, enjoying many road trips and making many lasting friends. Moving to Gypsumville in 1987, they owned and operated the Gypsumville Hotel. Hunting, quading, and snowmobiling were highlights during this time. In 1994, they purchased an acreage in Forest, Manitoba, where many hours were spent planting trees, putting in a pond, pool, and always making more flower beds for Ginger. Micky enjoyed his home, family, friends and listening to the birds, identifying them by their song. He spent many hours downloading music, taking photos and then making video memories for friends. Mick lent his mechanical expertise to all. He enjoyed sitting around the fire pit with the neighbours, and most of all looked forward to hunting with his buddies. Mick worked for Red Fern Farm Services in Brandon until his illness. The Ceremony to Celebrate Mick's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon, on Friday, July 13, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Glenna Beauchamp will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date in the Fisherton Cemetery, Fisherton, Manitoba. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all staff in providing such good care of Mick and family during his hospitalization at BRHC, and to the family and friends who stood by them throughout Mick's courageous battle with cancer. Mick's sense of humour never ceased to amaze everyone! Flowers are gratefully declined.
