WILLIAM (BILL) JAMES WIEBE On July 8, 2007, after complications from surgery, our dear husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away into the loving arms of Jesus. Born August 15, 1931 near Kane, Manitoba where his parents John and Mary Wiebe homesteaded. In his lifetime William had varying careers. He was a building mover with his father John, drove gravel trucks in Saskatchewan, Ontario and Manitoba, and also drove long haul with Reimer Express Lines Truck #83. William also spent more than 40 years in the automotive industry, lastly with Murray Group, in creation of the first GM Image 2000 dealership in Winnipeg. For many years Dad's life revolved around his cottage on Lee River at Lac Du Bonnet. It was a favourite place for William, his children, and grandchildren to gather and enjoy swimming, boating, family, and friends. One of his favourite pastimes at the cottage was to light the fire pit and watch the moon and stars with the grandkids. William had a great love for his children and was always strong and supportive. William was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Agnes Wiebe; his brother Elmer Wiebe; grandson Scott Wiebe, and his granddaughter Jennifer Wood. William is survived by his wife Susan, and his children, Brenda (Tim) Wood, Reg (Maggie) Wiebe, Lawrence (Lee) Wiebe; his grandchildren, Ryan, Judge (Nicole) Wood; Jordan, Kelsey, and Brendan Wiebe; Marcie (Liam) Wilson, Kathryn (Andy) Worona, and Douglas Wiebe; great-granddaughter Kennedy Worona. William will also be missed by his brothers and sisters, Mel (Lori) Wiebe, Lynn (Bill) Slocombe, Orma (Ron) Hiebert, Connie (Aldon) Sawatsky and sisters-in-law, Joyce (late: Elmer), Tene (Larry) Schwartz and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road. Private family interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Chapter, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2 or a charity of choice. I depart as air, I shake my white locks at the runaway sun; I effuse my flesh in eddies, and drift it in lacy jags I bequeath myself to the dirt, to grow from the grass I love; If you want me again, look for me under your boot-soles You will hardly know who I am or what I Mean, But I shall be good health to you nevertheless, And filter and fibre your blood. Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged, Missing me one place search another, I stop somewhere waiting for you. -Song of Myself Walt Whitman GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
