Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELAINE DENA REMIS (nee MOROSNICK) May 15, 1923 to July 10, 2007 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Elaine Remis on July 10, 2007 at the age of 84 years in the presence of her beloved family. She was predeceased by her father Louis David Morosnick in 1956, mother Gwendolyn Morosnick in 1966, husband Bernard Remis in 1990, partner Andrew Schwartz in 2005 and sister Dorothy in 1993. She is survived by her brother-in-law Leonard Remis, his wife Esther and sister-in-law Gloria Brown. She will be forever missed by her children and their partners, David and Paula, Robert and Karen, and Debby and Irv; her six grandchildren, Josh, Becky, Jill, Samuel, Daniel and Rachael; and four great-grandchildren, Madison, Hannah, Alejo and Adina. She was fortunate that all her children and grandchildren came from far and wide to be with her in her final days; this was a source of great comfort to her. She lived her entire life in Winnipeg and was an integral member of the Winnipeg Jewish community. Until very recently, Elaine was an independent woman who lived life to the fullest, including playing tennis and engaging in an active social life. For the last 30 years, she greatly enjoyed being able to spend the winter months with her husband, partner, family and friends in Palm Springs, California. Elaine was eternally youthful and was deeply dedicated to her family and friends. She had a way about her that put others at ease and she engendered much respect and affection in the many people she came in contact with over her lifetime. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Sincere thanks to the medical and nursing staff of 4 East, Riverview Health Centre and GD-5 Wing, Health Sciences Centre for the generous and sensitive care she received during the last weeks of her life. We are also grateful for the wonderful service provided by the staff at River Parke Condominiums. Her funeral will be held at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, 561 Wellington Crescent, Winnipeg, on Thursday, July 12 at 1:00 p.m. Interment following at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, 263 Armstrong Avenue (and Main Street), Winnipeg. There will be a Shiva on Thursday evening only at 141 Wellington Crescent, Apartment 401. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Health Sciences Centre Foundation, Thorlakson Building, MS-7, 820 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, R3A 1A9 or to the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, Suite C400-123 Doncaster Street, Winnipeg, R3N 2B2.
