JOHN HRYCE (HRYCEWICZ) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John at Mt. St. Joseph Hospital in Vancouver, BC, on July 4, 2007, two months prior to his 90th birthday. John will be sadly missed by his daughter Geraldine (John) Richards; and his son Kenneth (Jude) Hryce; grandchildren, Susan Slavik, Shelley Bishop, Matt Richards, Lindsey and Trevor Hryce; great-grandchildren, Parker, Chase, Max, Isabella and Kate, all of California; sister-in-law Tina Chaban of Vancouver, BC; and brother-in-law Mike (Ione) Chaban of Winnipeg, MB; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his loving wife Olga of 57 years; brother Peter; sisters, Jean and Anne. John was born in Kenora, ON, on September 3, 1917, was raised in Transcona, MB, and moved with his family to Sacramento, CA, in 1957. In 2000, he moved to Vancouver, BC. John was an avid baseball fan and loved to play golf. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and spent endless hours playing cards. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Sacramento, CA.
